NASA recently launched it's SDO, Solar Dynamics Observatory has delivered some very stunning first images of our dynamic sun.

SDO was launched on Feb 11, 2010 & this is the most advance spacecraft designed for the study of the sun. It is mainly designed to examin the sun's magnetic field. Now the scientists will be able to batter understand our sun's dynamic processes, the solar activities and it's effects on the earth.

Before this, Nasa been woowing us with the great images of moon and Mars and the areal images of our earths volcanic activites.. but now this time, the SDO has released some spectacular images and videos of our sun.

Here are some very amazing short videos of the new footage sent by SDO [Must see]
SDO is working at it's optimum conditions and performing extremely well. SDO is sending around 1.5 Terabytes of data everyday to the Earth and it will continue to do the same at least to the 5 years, which is the prime phase of this mission, till 2015

Here are some very interesting pics..

The images sent by the SDO are of very extreme high quality. They are much larger then the our usual 1080 full highdefination resolution. Here's a diagram compratively showing the image size of the SDO and others.
