Hey, What that can be, is it a center of hurricane? [hurricane eye?] or it is a Jupiter's great Red Spot?... Keep on guessing, because it is not yet known that how this was formed...

The Giant Mysterious Circle is known as the Richat Structure. A prominent circular feature of Mauriania in the Sahara desert near the Ouadane.

From the space this depression in the sahara desert really dose looks like human eye. This phenomenon is actually a Richet Structure formed due to the dome shaped symmetrical uplifting of the underlying geology, and now made visible by the millennia of erosion. Or it is formed by the any meteor impact. Some still believes that is is formed by the underground buclear blasts. But all this explanations are not wholly accepted by any of scientist community.

This structure is that geological feature, which is clearly observed from the space than the down on the ground. This structure was first observed by the McDivitt and White in June 1965, from the space by Gemini 4.

It is perticularly located at the center of Mauritania,which is at the western end of the Sahara desert. just near to the Ouadane or from the route of the endangered Dakar Rally. So if you are passing nearly from teh trans Saharan trek, dont forget to visit this place.  The Richat structure has got the attention since the earliest space missions, because it forms a very conspicuous bull's eye in the otherwise rather featureless expanse of the desert. The structure having the diameter of around 30 miles [50Kilometers].

Here some of the good images of Richat structure is shown, many of them will found to be yellowish, indicating sand desert. The dark brown portionis bare sedimentary rocks, while in between that you can clearly see the Richat structure, a gigantic ring structure, which is around of 30 miles in diameter.
















































































































































































































The sedimentary rock part, which is white found in the eye is a plateau standing some 200m above the sand desert. The Richat structure, which corresponding to the iris of the eye is a depression, and the peak of the outer rim is 485m above to the sea level. The richat structure consists of Early paleozoic rocks, some 600 million yeras old, Around the center rocks resistant to weathering and erosion [purple and blue-green part] makes the 100m high ridges and nonresistant rocks [yesslow and brown part] from the valleys. these things are alternatively situated and are concentric.

Previously it was said that the Richat structure have been formed due to the some meteorite impact or volcanic activity, but now the current thinking is that these structure is formed by an uplift and subsequent erosion from the wind and water.
